Hopscotch Corner is a family run business, owned and managed by Helen and Sharon Scott. We have an experienced team providing focused and age specific childcare, with highly trained staff to Level 3 and above.

As a mother of two children, I am passionate about childcare which is what encouraged me to create Hopscotch Corner. I believe we have created a warm, secure and friendly setting. I feel privileged to work with the team and children at Hopscotch Corner and am very proud of what we have created together.

Sharon
Owner (SENCO & Designated Safeguarding Lead)
My name is Sharon and I am a co-owner of Hopscotch Corner. As a mother of three children, I enjoy working with children and am passionate about the setting we have created here at Hopscotch. I work with a great team that prides itself on being friendly, approachable and passionate about the work we do here.

Leanne Woodhouse
Early Years Manager (Deputy SENCO)
My name is Leanne and I have worked at Hopscotch since 2009. It’s been the best some of the most rewarding years seeing the children grow and develop into the people they are today. What I love most about my job is knowing I’m making a difference in someone’s life, helping them develop and grow. I have 2 children of my own who are my world. In my spare time, I like to socialise with friends, go on holiday and being a mother, spending most of my weekends at football.

Rachel Charles
Early Years Teacher
My name is Rachel. I have over 5 years of teaching experience in primary and early years. I hold a BA(Hons) degree in primary education with a qualified teacher status. My first teaching role was teaching year 6 at the Greetland Academy in 2011. Since then I have worked in local primary schools as a class teacher and supply teacher. After welcoming my son I worked as a preschool assistant at Ripponden Preschool before joining Hopscotch Corner in June 2023. In my spare time, I love exploring the local environment with family and searching for fossils on our holidays to Whitby. I am very excited to complete my Forest School Leadership training in the coming months.

Zoe Scholes
Early Years Practitioner
Hi, I’m Zoe. I’m extremely passionate about childcare and I’m working towards my Early Years Lead Practitioner Level 5. I have a teenage daughter who is rugby mad so we attend rugby matches and training regularly. I love the outdoors, so in my spare time, I enjoy taking our three dogs for walks and horse riding with friends.

I am passionate about supporting young children’s development. It brings me such joy to see children flourish and thrive. I have completed numerous courses before joining Hopscotch Corner, including a children and young persons mental health diploma, and teaching English as a foreign language. I am continually looking to expand my credentials. I enjoy spending time with my 3 children and our house rabbits. We are currently training the rabbits to do small obstacle courses which they love!
